Welcome to Carrigan Intermediate School

The holidays came a bit early to Carrigan Intermediate School as they welcomed over 500 books collected by the Core Training Academy of Orange CT.  The books were donated by the families and players of the CT Gators.  The Gators baseball and softball players collected the books this fall and the members of the Gator leadership program sorted the books into age appropriate reading and grade levels prior to delivery.  The books will bolster reading programs at Carrigan Intermediate School (grades 5 and 6) and certainly the 6 Elementary schools of West Haven.  The CORE Training Academy strives to provide athletic, academic, and leadership opportunities in a community based model.  The Gators are also currently assisting the WH BOE with their winter weather clothing drive.

Pictured from left to right are players Anthony Dadio, Trevor Knotwell, WH Reading Consultant Latanya Joyner, Assistant Principal Alicia Limosani, Principal Rich Weber, and players Jack Weber and Matt Prete.

For more information about the Core Training Academy, please contact Director Bill Asermely at 203.903.3022 or check out www.coretrainingacademy.org

The school is designed to meet the unique educational, personal, physical, social and emotional needs of the fifth- and sixth-grade student. In addition to developing interpersonal relationships and respect for the values of others, each student has the opportunity for maximum growth in knowledge, confidence and self-worth.

Carrigan Intermediate School provides a varied program of exploratory subjects and activities which strive to encourage curiosity and a willingness to learn. Our curriculum continues to develop and strengthen basic skills. Each group of students is taught by a cluster of teachers who rely upon common planning time for coordinating instruction and discussions centering on student development.
