 Welcome to Carrigan Intermediate School!

2016 - 2017

Here is some useful information about our classroom:

Our school hours are 8:15 a.m. – 2:40 p.m.

Half Day Schedule Dismissal – 12:40 p.m.

90-Minute Delay Arrival – 9:45 a.m.

If there is a change in your child’s transportation home you must send me a note or call the school office indicating the change.

Specials:  gym, art, music, library, science lab, and computer enrichment.  Lunch is at 12:10 PM.  A classroom schedule will be sent home with your child so that you are aware of the specials.  Please make sure your child dresses appropriately for gym.

Lockers: The students will keep their backpacks/lunch/coats in their lockers. The lockers are equipped with locks.

Personal Items: Please do not send any toys or personal items to school with your child as they may become damaged or lost and are not allowed in the classroom. Cell phones/devices are permitted.  Please refer to the student handbook for guidelines.

Supplies: A list of supplies is posted on this website, however a hard copy will be sent home with your child.

Classes: This year the 6th graders switch classes.  They will see me for English Language Arts and Social Studies and Mrs. Skerritt (Rm. B245) for Math and Science.

Behavior: It is expected that the students behave appropriately throughout the school day. I will contact parents/guardians if a concern arises in the classroom.

Homework/Agenda: Homework reinforces the lessons learned during the school day and is assigned daily (Monday – Thursday) with possible exceptions. Each student has been given an agenda and is responsible for writing the assignments in it.  Math and Science assignments will be given to the students by Mrs. Skerritt.  It is important that your child completes each homework assignment and returns it the next day, as this is counted as a grade.

I am very excited for the new school year and am looking forward to working with your child and you this year!  I believe home and school are a team with your child's best interest and success as our goals.  You can always contact me through the school office with any questions or concerns.  However, the best way to reach me is through email, as I am in the classroom with very limited access to a phone throughout the day.
