Classroom Rules

Be prepared

Notebooks and folders for each subject are required.  It's helpful to the student if the notebook and folder for a class match, but they don't have to.

Students should have a chapter book for silent reading at all times.

I will provide everything you need to be successful.  If you would like supplies of your own we will use pencils, pens, crayons, markers,  highlighters, erasers, and glue sticks during the year.

 Be positive

I am looking forward to an exciting year full of learning and challenges.  Together we can and will make it a great year.  I am happy to be part of this adventure, and I'm thrilled you will be with me.

Be respectful

Always treat people the way you want to be treated.

Book Reports

There is a report assigned every marking period and will be counted as a test grade!

There is homework every night.  In addition to any written work, it is expected that students will read for twenty minutes every night. It is important to study class notes including vocabulary and key terms as well. Homework should take about an hour every day. Novels, magazines, and newspapers are some suggested reading material.

A uniform grading policy has been adopted for sixth grade.  I will provide that to you at the beginning of the year.
