Who Came Up With It

George Lemaite first suggested the Big Bang Theory as a possible explanation for  how the universes beganing. At the time he was a Catholic priest. He then was banned from the church for suggesting this. The scientific community quickly dismissed this possibility. In later years Edwin Hubble found further evidence to support Lemaitre's suggestion. He found that other galaxies are moving away from ours. This means that if you rewound time the universe started at one point, as the Big Bang suggests. The term Big Bang started as a joke because sound can’t travel through space, but as the idea grew the name stuck with it.
