They were chosen after they were "caught doing good" in school and entered into a drawing for the special lunch.

Some of the students entered into the drawing helped other students open their lockers or log onto the computer.  Others had perfect homework records or were a good friend to someone in need.

At the Cougar Paw Lunch, they chat about school and their plans for the weekend.

"It's just a very positive environment to reward those students who do positive things around the school on a daily basis," says Carrigan Assistant Principal Rich Weber. "Over 75 cougar paws were handed in and we randomly selected 8 for the lunch.  Every student who gets a paw gets a special pencil that only cougar paw recipients receive.  It is a random drawing of all paws for the winners."
