Cell Phone Policy

Student Cell Phone Policy

 

Due to an increase in school technology, students will no longer have the need to use personal cell phones, lap tops, tablets or any personal electronic devices for classroom research and classroom academics. 

No use of cell phones or other personal communication devices will be permitted during school hours.

If brought to school, the device must be turned off or silenced and stored in the student’s locker.  Students are not permitted to carry and/or use their phone/device during school hours.

 

All violations of the student cell phone/device policy will be logged into PowerSchool.

 

If a student violates the policy:

  • 1st incident: Teacher asks for the student’s phone/device. Teacher will return the device to the student at the end of the school day and notify parent.

 

  • 2nd incident: Teacher asks for the student’s phone/device. Teacher turns the device over to administration. Administrator will return phone to the student at the end of the day and will notify parent.

 

  • 3rd incident: Teacher asks for the student’s phone/device. Teacher turns the device over to administration. Administrator will keep the device until the child’s parent comes to school to retrieve it.

 

Additional incident(s):  Student will be subject to more serious consequences.

 

All unclaimed confiscated items will be disposed of if not claimed by the parent/guardian by the end of the school year.  The school is not responsible for recovering lost or stolen items.
